According to news reports on June 15th, Kang Daniel was recently confirmed as a the 1st OST singer of ‘Backstreet Rookie’

It’ll be the first time for Kang Daniel to sing a drama OST. Kang Daniel, who ranked #1 on season 2 of Mnet’s “Produce 101”, debuted as a member of group project Wanna One that received love in Korea and from international fans.

After the group disbanded, he also made his mark as a solo artist. Since its re-debut with the first mini-album “Color on Me” in July last year, he released a series of singles “TOUCHIN” and “CYAN” and broke high record sales for solo artists. In addition, he was selected as the most influential male solo artist at the “2020 Brand Customer Loyalty Awards” that was held on June 8th in recognition of his outstanding work in various fields such as magazines and advertisements.

“Backstreet Rookie” is a romantic comedy directed by Lee Myung Woo, who was the director of the hit SBS dramas “Punch”, “Whisper” and “The Fiery Priest”. It is set in a 24-hour convenience store between store owner Choi Dae Hyun (Ji Chang Wook) and part-time worker Jung Saet Byul (Kim Yoo Jung). The drama will be premiere on June 19.
